smiling...feelgood, got new wheels from Ponk`s skateshop with a discount due to funny story of my old wheel. really like shops that work like Ponk`s...

testing my new wheels in trafic, still smiling...super smooth wheels.

getting my daily coffe fix, stoked...

a short staring contest with a duck...the duck lost.

and then the skate session. Danny told me he spottet an emty pond close på Pasila and today there was no wind(been exstreme lately) and sunshine. its amasing...perfect spot. with smooth pavement and nice transition and...stoked!

joined twitter, actually joined friday but started using it today...since my studies have brought me into the web 2.0 i felt i had to try it...lets so how that works out.

had a fotosafari, walked some abandoned train tracks and tunnels.

the weather was nice...and someone had left their white bike in the white snow. it was still there today(and with the sun finaly in place) so i could take this picture.

went to the fleamarked(finally on time, always late but today i made it. yeah!!) but i got to wonder what this guy actually sold...?

did some (light) reading for my exam monday. my eyes are now square.

last week Bjørg asked me to try drawing a fish so (during this mondays lecture) when my left brain side was working hard and paying attention... my right side brain made this dude.

and it was fun drawing "on demand" so now i wonder :

open for suggestions...just bought a marker to use on fabrics. After making a canvas bag to my girlfriend i felt inspired to do it again...make some t shirts maby.

just need to read for my exam and finish my project and.....the list is longer but somehow not remembering it now. hehe, well hope i remember it soon...untill i do i`l just sketch some more fishes.

yes and while making the fish(s) my birds(that sounds strange) have had some evolution on their own...

and can warm up at Wayne`s Coffee...possibly the best coffee in Helsinki,
but...it depends on the staff that day.
some days they make really really (and i mean really) bad coffee. other times it the best!!

the cold issue?
it does matter when we walk in cold cold cooold weather so i could get these pictures...(above)

and for some people it matters a lot more then it did for my cold fingertips.

been stressed out by something that doesn`t really matter? something that`s not even real? (picture above Julian Beever chalk artist) it`s a common thing. based on what you know to be real, could you walk over to that person up the road?

by changing established systems of understanding, people sometimes just dont know how to react to new situations...strange how we get so used to whats true or false.

but things are changing all around us...and we need to adapt to these changes.

the feeling of having a couple of pictures you really and i mean really want to take.

but never seem to get the timing right. i know that 19:15 i have to be one place because then the light is perfect, if its blue sky. then another place is perfect 08:00 in the morning. but i always seem to just miss it.

today i finally got one of them done. uploaded the picture to my computer, formated the memory card in my camera(?) and started photoshop...went to the folder and...

the wrong pictures were there and the right one`s were gone. bummer.

i have to make a todo list soon and.... just remember to feelgood and to take the picture again. (above a postcard i made in visual communication last year)

when talking about feelgood.....Bjørg is flying over on thursday!

...for a while. back to Oslo for a three week getaway. finally some relaxation after intense project work kicking my ass day after day. don't get me wrong it`s good fun, but its hard fun.

but still no project update? why? it turns out there is some corporate things preventing me.
but hey...keep it casual.
as casual as... color and light.... few days away from getting a new camera so still cameraphone.

i found this dog and realised it needed a home. she has no name yet.
but will get one this weekend...she`s friendly and really good at the "sit" trick.

when exploring TAIK you find new rooms and hidden stuff every day. today i found this.
not entirely sure what it is so i asked around. i found it in the film/movie/tv production area.

it turned out if was a (obviusly) very popular Finnish actor. if you ask me?
this is kinda creepy. i wonder if he know about this...

once again...some people say the toilet is a good place to think about things.
and the urge to write it on the wall seems to by too tempting for many people.

therefor i will not post anything about my project on this blog. not today at least.

i posted this picture insted(above). found on a bridge in Pasila, Helsinki.
Pasila is not known for its colors. so finding this on the way home was a nothing but a joy.
i don`t know anything about the person who put it up or why...but thank you.

staying on the bright side of things. emergency exits useally don`t look this positive.

last update 3 desember 2008(the blogger lives in oslo, so i guess thats where i found the sticker) and the blogger has some intresting projects going on. check it out!

the projects remind me of some experiments we had in sosial interaction her in helsinki earlier this year. where we tried to create sosial interaction in public spaces where there normally only is hasty transportation. (like the train terminal, on a buss and tram`s)

with books like this, spread over the floor, we tried getting them to stop, read and write their thoughts or a message to other people.

tried getting people to take this bear around town...show it helsinki.
some people actually did.

getting people to draw flowers in front of a shopping mall with chalk. great respons.
but reading the Good Indeed blog i feel like trying again. creating tools for interaction within the public spaces around us.

because everybody has something to say. but why always on toilet walls?

friday night, no big plans or ambitions.

finding a disturbing cardboard commercial in a window while walking to town

halfway, me and Danny founds this guy drumming on all kind of stuff in the streets, he had some extra "drum sticks" so we joined in...suddenly there was a crowd, people dancing and taking pictures. some finnish guy was saying something we didn`t understand and started filming us. well, filming me and Danny. the drum guy suddenly started shouting:
"they are filming you!!! you are nothing!! nothing!" and took our drumsticks (actually we gave them back, he had no legs...) good fun while it lasted. we left him and he continiued playing.
got no pictures, wish i did...

erottaja bar, stickers, that face is all over town...wonder who makes them?

walking home realising christmas is getting close...

one of the challanges me and my team face in the following days. final presentation 15 desember.
the countdown is not going any slower lately. but!! on 16th desember i`m going back to norway, back to Bjørg.
feel(ing pretty damn)good about that. a countdown i`m pretty stoked about.

yes and lets not forget the fact that my computer has invited some viruses in and they are creating some minor problems. trying to fix it before they create major problems.

earlier this year we had a course in presentation techniques and my groups topic was, keep in mind the topic had been chosen because it was impossible, landmines. this was just for practise, but i realised while trying to sell someone a redesign of landmines.
i will never ever design weapons.

but this just makes me feel a lot better about the term "designer"...

and suddenly you feel like rethinking some of your ways of living. the way i make choises and in the end what i want to do as a designer...

... industrial designer, Jacque Fresco. He has worked nearly his entire life to create the tools needed to assist a design of the world which could eventually eradicate war, poverty, crime, social stratification and corruption...

you cannot watch this without starting thinking about the way you make choises, what you base your decisions on. this relates back to my current project...

our project about Silja Line`s future cruise ships focuses on to main issues.
Eco responsibility and cruise culture( a.k.a drinking culture) the culture of the consumer.
the culture of our time.

realising that when given the possibility to change something you are given a big resposibility.
taking on a big responsibility while addressing what seems to be small details.
making the most of it. and i feel exited about the following two weeks. motivated and inspired.
and a bit overwhelmed...

on sunday she decided to give us the full treatment. needless to say the
people in Helsinki was not ready...

arabia in snowstorm...with one stoked French guy, Pierre, who played in the snow all the way home that day. we all felt like children. good times.

...without power supply? a piece of plastic...

for a about a week my laptop has been a little useless.
actually totally useless.
On the Silja Line i forgot my power adapter in the cabin. big mistake.
After four trips to "lost and found" i realised my loss and purchased one of those
universal monsters. ..it`s HUGE!!

so now i`m back in full power and bringing some updates from Helsinki.

raining in helsinki.
jepp, pretty much stuck inside, but thats not a problem. got lots and lots of project work to do...plenty...and tomorrow i`m going on Silja Line cruise to Stockholm...
research trip there and back again...tickets paid.

(but!! maby not the meals. who knows...? cruise ship meals are expensive)

and...well, we get cabins and working spaces in conferance rooms...armed to the teeth with
foto cameras, video cameras, note pads, pens and a bag of colored crayons, laptops, questions and...48 hours on a cruise ship, stay tuned for updates...

ps: still raining though, now it`s kinda raining sideways...sweet.

finnished my presentation, everything went as planned, then ran to the bus...1 hour later i was on the ferry to Tallinn, Estonia. never been there before...

you will always find the truth on toilet walls...or at least some guy`s frustration.

8€ doorms. great place, just dont remember the name.

since we arrived 17:30 in Tallinn, it was pretty much dark outside...but the old town looks really good at night... would actually recommend sightseeing in the dark...

got to check out the lokal street artist`s...not sure if they are all from the same artist, but they are a fresh breath into your everyday tags...

though some people put a bit more effort into their work...nice optical illution

but lot of school work is waiting back in Helsinki...so after 24 hours in Tallinn we had to leave.

great weather for sunday walks but this guy is stuck inside working on tuesdays presentation.

Finnair got some tricks up their sleeves...during takeoff and landing they played chill Jazz music.. now thats a nice personal touch.

yes and on the way back, a camera under the plane showed the takeoff and landing

remember these ancient things? in our presentation technique course a few weeks ago we had to use them during a short stunt presentation. must say i enjoyed it...the old school feel to it.

so today, while sitting and trying to focus on my new project, i started thinking about overhead projectors and how many practical and decorative things one could do with one.

they even come in new practical sizes.
might get one when i`m back in oslo.
but now back to work...
